Artisanal Intelligence
The finished object almost always conceals the process that produced it. An apprentice tries to follow the example of past masters or imitate an ideal finished product; errors occur, revisions are made if the work isn't completely ruined, or sometimes a fresh start is needed when nothing can be salvaged. This process repeats until the work provides some satisfaction and the apprentice gains enough proficiency to begin a new skill.
